Half Assini (W/R), June 22, GNA - A civil servant has appealed to investors to invest in the hospitality industry in the Jomoro District to help solve accommodation challenges facing the district.
The Jomoro District Coordinating Director, Mr Amadu Adams, made the appeal at a meeting with executives of the Jomoro District Traditional Caterers’ Association at Half Assini on Thursday.
He said with influx of visitors to the area especially the district capital, Half Assini, in view of the emerging oil and gas industry, there had been accommodation shortage in the town.
Mr Adams said the situation has compelled most visitors to Half Assini to spend the night in nearby districts.
Citing an example, he said, participants at a recent coordinating directors’ meeting held at Half Assini had to be paired due to insufficient accommodation.
Madam Agatha Buah, Secretary of the Association, appealed to the Jomoro District Assembly to support the members financially to enable them improve on their businesses.
