Accra, July 18, GNA – Friday the 20th of July, Silverbird Cinemas in partnership with Samsung Smart TV and Coca Cola will premiere, along with the rest of the world, the final installment of the Batman Trilogy, ‘Dark Knight Rises’.
Dark, mysterious, powerful and a befitting conclusion to one of the world’s most beloved action comics, Batman, the long awaited ‘Dark Knight Rises’ will make its grand opening at the Silverbird Cinemas, giving comic fans a truly international premiere experience.
A statement copied to the Ghana News Agency by Silverbird Cinemas on Wednesday said, to commemorate this event, Silverbird in conjunction with Samsung Smart TV and Coca Cola, would debut the final installment to the trilogy with a few exclusive advance tickets going on sale.
It said the leading Cinema Group has acquired the exclusive rights to premiere the superhero blockbuster the same day as it would be around the world.
"The premiere at the Silverbird Cinema will be a blue carpet affair with a private Black Tie Cocktail preceding the movie screening. With less than a week to its release date, the movie which is based on the DC Comic Character, has already set tongues wagging and heightened anticipation for its release.”
“Just last week, about 50 press and critics were invited for a private screening of the movie in the U.S.A ended with a standing ovation and set the social media scene ablaze with incessant raves and praises for the movie even though they were told not to publish reviews until the day before the film's official release.”
Having taken almost a decade to make, the ‘an Epic Masterpiece’ will reunite award –winning Director Christopher Nolan with many of his past collaborators, including production designer Nathan Crowley, editor Lee Smith, costume designer Lindy Hemming, special effects supervisors Paul Franklin and Chris Corbould.
The movie, which is famed for unveiling groundbreaking gadgets and futuristic concept cars is said to blow fans out of the water this time round. The Lamborghini Aventador for example, was confirmed on the set during filming. The infamous ‘BatMobile’ which is now succinctly called the ‘Bat’, is continually a customized concept model which is only revealed for the first time during the movie screening.
The theme, ‘darker and better’ is prevalent in the movie with an excruciating amount of attention paid to every detail from the Batsuit, which consisted of a 110 separate pieces to that of the villain, Bane, whose jacket alone took two years to complete.
“It is therefore no wonder that the movie has garnered such international attention and is set to be one of the highest grossing films worldwide,” the statement said.
The final installment of the trilogy once again stars Christian Bale as Batman/Bruce Wayne, Michael Caine as Alfred and Gary Oldman as Commissioner Gordon with Bale being hailed by critics as a sure contender during the awards season. New arrivals include Anne Hathaway as Catwoman, Tom Hardy as Bane, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Gotham cop John Blake.
