Daporetindongo youth break gangsters' front in Bolgatanga Municipality

Bolgatanga, May 17, GNA - The youth of Daporetindongo in the Bolgatanga Municipality on Tuesday chased out gangsters from their new Bolgatanga market hideout, accusing them of perpetrating various criminal acts in the municipality.
Mr. Richard Atampugbire Asaa, Assemblyman of the Daporetingdongo electoral area who supported the action of the youth, said the gangsters were identified to be dealers in hard drugs such as Indian hemp and cocaine, and engaged in snatching of ladies' bags, mobile phones and raping of women.
Mr. Asaa who spoke with the GNA at Daporetingdongo said the youth of the area attacked and chased the gangsters at the market, who took to their heels leaving behind a new motor bike, a laptop computer and a gambling board.
The assemblyman said after the swoop, Mary Ayifore , a teacher resident in Winkongo near Bolgatanga identified the motorbike as her's and later proved ownership with her documents indicating she had purchased the bike on April 16, 2012.
Mr Asaa said the laptop was also identified with documents by the owner of an internet café operating in the municipality remaining the gambling board which was in the custody of the assemblyman.
Mr Asaa appealed to the Upper East Regional Security Council (Regsec), fellow assemblymen in Bukere, Atulbabiisi, and Soe to assist in flashing out criminals from the municipality.
