Amisano (C/R) May20, GNA- The Catholic Women Association of the Archdiocese of Cape Coast on Saturday donated food items to the students of St Theresa’s Minor Seminary at Amisano in the Central Regional.
The items, included gallons of palm oil and vegetable oil, bags of rice, maize, sugar, gari, smoked fish, plantain, yam, milk, loaves of bread, milo, toiletries and undisclosed amount of money.
Mrs Comfort Forson, the Diocesan President of the Association, presenting the donation, said it was the responsibility of the group, which was being recognised as the “Mother of the Catholic Church,” to promote the welfare of the students who are being trained to become priests of the church.
She asked the students to take their studies seriously, and be responsible and disciplined, since the church was looking up to them to become dedicated priests in the future.
Mrs Forson appealed to the teachers to give of their best in the training of the students.
Reverend Father Odartey Lamptey, who received the items, thanked the association for the gesture, and called on other groups to also support the school.
Rev. Fr. Panford, Rector of the Seminary, praised the association for its regular visit, support and prayers for the school .
The Seminary Acapella group and choir treated the gathering to melodious songs.
