Commonwealth Human Rights Initiative mourns late President Mills

Accra, July 26, GNA - The Commonwealth Human Rights Initiative (CHRI), on Thursday expressed its condolences to the National Democratic Congress, the wife and family of the late President John Evans Atta Mills.
A statement signed by CHRI Africa Regional Coordinator, Ms Mina Mensah, copied to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Accra on Thursday, said the late President Mills was a tireless defender of democracy not only in Ghana but in West Africa and across the continent.
It said: "As a President, he worked to improve the lives of the global circumstances and a strong advocate for human rights for the fair treatment of all Ghanaians.
"Our prayers and thoughts are with the family in this difficult days and also appeal to Ghanaians to remain peaceful as we join together to mourn our departed president".
