Mawuli School to admit students with visual impairment

 

Ho, June 18,) GNA-Mawuli School would from next academic year admit students with visual impairment after the completion of the School’s Braille Resource Centre.
     The project is about 85 per cent complete, Mr John Mawusi Osei-Nyansa, Headmaster of the School hinted on Monday.
       Work on the Centre being funded by the Ghana Education Trust Fund began in 2006.
      He was speaking at the presentation of Braille books to the Centre by Voice of people with disability (Voice Ghana), an NGO .
       Mr Osei-Nyansa said the School is prepared for the admission of blind students and appealed to Krampah and Associates, Contractors working on the project to complete the work on in time.
       Mr Francis Ansong, Director of Voice Ghana who presented the items commended the School for making efforts towards making the School an all inclusive one.
       He said it is the dream of the NGO to see the programme take off this year successfully.
      Mr Ansong said the presentation of Braille books, large prints and talking calculators was supported by STAR Ghana, a multi-donor pooled organisation that supports the strengthening of transparency, accountability and responsiveness and a Peace Corps Volunteer, Raetaylor from the United States.
      He said his outfit was also arranging with its partners for a 40 footer container of Braille materials and other learning materials for special need classes at Anglican Basic School
