NDC undertakes peace walk in Koforidua

 

Koforidua, March 25, GNA - The National Democratic Congress (NDC) at the weekend organized a two hours peace walk through the principal streets of Koforidua, to advocate peace in the country.

       The two hours walk started from Asokore through the principal streets of Koforidua with supporters of the party on board vehicles while others were walking.

      Speaking at Jacksons Park, in Koforidua, where the group finally gathered, the NDC Eastern Regional Chairman, Mr Julius Debrah, reminded GFhanaian politicians, who beat war drums and promote politics of hate, that they could face charges of war crimes against humanity if war erupts in the country.

      Mr Samuel Okudjato Ablakwa, a Deputy Minister for Information, said members of NDC had hope in Ghana and wanted to stay long, and therefore, decide to undertake the peace walk.

        He said |many young people were registering as voters to vote for the NDC because they want to see more school infrastructure, more free exercise books, free school uniforms, and the many good things happening under President John Evans Atta Mills.

        Mr Agyenim Boateng, also a Deputy Minister for Information, called on all persons who have attained 18 years and above and of sound mind to register in the on-going biometric voters’ registration.

       He appealed to the youth to vote for people of integrity and high moral standing in Election 2012, to rule the country so that Ghana could be respected among the community of nations.

        The Deputy Minister of Local Government and Rural Development , Mr Elvis Afriyie Ankrah, said due to efficient management of the economy, Ghana was now among the ten fast growing economies in the world.
