Hohoe North Constituency selects Dr Adiku-Heloo as candidate

Fodome-Helu (V/R), Aug 16, GNA – Dr Bernice Adiku-Heloo, a 57-year old Development Consultant, has been declared as the Parliamentary Candidate for the Hohoe North Constituency of the National Democratic Congress.
Dr Adiku-Heloo polled 257 ballots representing 55.1 percent of the votes cast on Thursday to beat three other contestants for the Constituency.
The event was held at Fodome-Helu in the Hohoe Municipality and supervised the by the Electoral Commission.
The other contestants, Mr Theophilus K. Dzimegah, 39, a Civil Engineer returned 189 ballots representing 40.2 percent of the votes and was followed by Mr Fred Agbenyo, 36, businessman, who polled 15 votes representing 3.1 percent of the ballots cast.
Mr Prince-Jacob Hayibor, the incumbent Member of Parliament, who was absent, polled three votes with a 0.63 percent votes.
Dr Adiku-Heloo thanked the delegates for the trust reposed in her and pledged to reciprocate it through hard work.
She assured the constituents that with their support victory was guaranteed but urged them the close their ranks and unite as a family.
Mr Constant Tumawu, Hohoe North Constituency Chairman, reminded supporters that the party would sanction members who flouted its internal mechanisms to address grievances irrespective of gender, ethnicity or religious affiliations.
Mr E. Aklorbortu, Volta Regional Vice Chairman of NDC, said the interest of the party was superior to all other groups or individuals and that persons identified to be fomenting trouble would be sanctioned.
