India, Oct.20, GNA- The National Under-17 team, Black Starlets of Ghana has ended its first training session ahead of the all-important African quarter final clash with Mali in the ongoing Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) U-17 World Cup Tournament.
The team, which moved from Mumbai is now pitching camp at Guwahati and had its first training at the Lnipe Nerc Football Pitch, Guwahati
Ghana beat Niger by two goals to nil in the 1/16 round to book a date with Mali in the quarter finals, on Saturday, October 21 at 11:30 local time.
According to technical handlers of the team, the boys are poised for action and are free of any injuries for now and hoping to make it to the next stage.
They further noted that the support they are enjoying from the national supporters are urging them on and they have promised to deliver when it matters most.
Mali beat Ghana by a goal to nil in the U-17 African championship to lift the trophy and with this in the mind of many Ghanaians here, they are expecting the starlets to silence the Malians from having a double over them in FIFA competitions this year.
The other quarter final matches would see USA take on England on Saturday October 21, with the other two quarter final games between Spain and Iran, with Germany taking on Brazil, on Sunday October 22, 2017.
